CALL FOR PROPOSALS
Woodhull Sexual Freedom Summit’s Sex Worker Rights Track
A series of workshops on the rights, resilience and wellbeing on people who trade sex
August 15 – 18, 2019
Alexandria, VA
The Sex Workers Outreach Project – USA is joining with the Woodhull Freedom Foundation to coordinate an entire track of panels, presentation and workshops about sex worker rights at this year’s Sexual Freedom Summit. We invite sex workers, activists and experts to submit abstracts for the upcoming conference, and help us create two days of knowledge, skill sharing and community building. If your proposal is accepted, in recognition of your time and expertise, we are happy to offer you a fully-paid registration (a $230 value).
The conference is a two-day summit which brings together activists, academics and individuals from many of the different areas touched by sexual freedom. This year’s other tracks include Pleasure, Skill-Sharing, Issues facing TGNC peoples, and making sexual freedom more accessible.
Will you join us by submitting a workshop proposal? Please consider what skill you have, what wisdom you can impart, what visions you can share for the hard work we have to keep doing right here at the intersection of sexual and human rights.
Topic Panels can include:
- Resistance and Resilience
- Policing and criminalization
- Stigma and discrimination
- Harm reduction
- Ongoing advocacy work
- Experiences of people who engage in commercial sex
Proposals should be submitted by filling out the following form. We strongly recommend that you have a draft of your proposal prepared before going online to submit your proposal and that you have all required information prepared.
Submission deadline: March 3, 2019. Admitted proposals will be notified by mid-April. Please note that panelists are responsible for their own travel expenses.
