My name is Sangam and I am excited to be stepping in to the role of Ombudsperson for SWOP-USA. Having been involved in sex work community advocacy for some time now, I’ve long respected the work SWOP does and am happy to join in it. For me, supporting sex workers’ rights is an important way to uplift my communities — as a disabled trans Black person, it’s impossible for me to separate this issue from any other part of who I am.

My role as Ombudsperson is to mediate conflict and address problems you might be having within SWOP. We welcome feedback, criticism, and concerns, and that’s why I’m here! I will help address both specific disputes within our organization (chapter or national) and broader issues with how we operate, places where we are not living up to our values. If you want to reach me, our grievance form is here  and goes straight to me.

I look forward to working with all of you and being a part of the SWOP community.
