Learn basic community organizing strategies for promoting effective legislation in your city, state, or nation!

As this past legislative season illustrated, state governments continue to to introduce and pass laws related to sex work and sex trafficking. Often these bills conflate the two and put sex workers at danger of arrest, civil penalties, and even incarceration.

In this webinar moderated by Katie Hail-Jares, we will be joined by Tara Burns (Community United for Safety & Protection), Conner Spinks (Transformative Healing), and Kiefer Paterson (AIDS United) who will introduce basic community organizing strategies for promoting effective legislative advocacy (or “lobbying”).

Some of the topics discussed will include discerning the viability of a bill (and whether to invest time and energy opposing or supporting it), local coalition building, and effective talking points for legislators. We will wrap up with a question and answer session.

This session is geared towards sex workers and allies.
