We are very pleased to announce that the 16 sex workers who were arrest in Honolulu during a prostitution sting have had their charges of “sexual assault” dropped. SWOP-USA teamed up with local groups to address the charges, and as a result of a strong response and media attention to the issue, the charges have been dropped. Still the women at the center of the issue are now facing having prostitution records which could effect their standing with immigration. Their lawyers are working to get their records expunged.

Watch this video on the dropping of the charges.
