Title: HIV & Sex Work
Authors: SWOP-USA and Desiree Alliance
Sex workers are recognized by the World Health Organization, along with other major health and human rights organizations, as one of four key populations in the global fight against HIV/AIDS. They are not recognized as a key population in the United States, nor were they mentioned in the U.S. National HIV/AIDS Strategy Action Plan, released on December 1, 2015 for World Aids Day.
This fact sheet was adapted in 2016 from a Huffington Post blog written by Cris Sardina (Desiree Alliance) and Katherine Koster (SWOP-USA) for World Aids Day in 2015.
